The Client

The Petroleum Solutions corporate web development project resulted in a dramatic increase in organic search engine traffic and improved online credibility. The key results for the project were an estimated 100-200% increase in website traffic through organic search engine optimization (SEO) and improved site maintenance through an open source web content management system (DNN Evoq, i.e. DotNetNuke). The first project was roughly three years ago, then this year Clarity refreshed the design and built the site a mobile responsive template.

Existing Problems

The Petroleum Solutions Inc. (PSI) team needed a credible corporate website that matched up to their target audience - petroleum industry executives and management. The PSI team also wanted a custom location map with JavaScript rollover effects to engage visitors and visually show each PSI location. Finally, PSI needed to be able to update their site easily, without technical training or additional IT resources. This year, they came back and needed both a refresh and the ability to handle mobile visitors.

Our Solutions

Clarity worked with the PSI team to deliver a professional, customized website design. Upon receiving approval from the PSI team, Clarity implemented a cross-browser compatible, div based layout for the PSI team in an open source content management system called DNN Evoq. Clarity imported all the previous website's content and ensured that each pages' formatting matched the branding and marketing presence that PSI customers needed to engage with the site. Finally, Clarity optimized the site SEO (organic search engine optimization) to ensure improved site traffic. This year, Clarity did another refresh on the design and built a new mobile responsive template.

Technologies

The front-end CMS is DNN’s Evoq Professional. HTML5, CSS3 and Modernizr was used to create the responsive template.

Clarity Connect, JavaScript, JQuery, Telerik controls were all needed for various features and functionality, as well as a host of DNN modules, like XMod Pro, Easy DNN News, Rotator and Gallery.
