webinarshow-to-increase-ecommerce-sales-with-personalization Ron Halversen. vice-president of sales and marketing at Clarity Ventures, reveals how site customization can increase sales for you business. RON HALVERSEN: Today, we're going to cover how the Clarity eCommerce platform (CEF)and its machine learning module combined with angular directives allows you to customize and improve sales conversion through personalized upsell and cross-sell opportunities that can be either static, or dynamic. To begin, we'll visit a quick and simple installation that I use to demo from. As I scroll down the homepage, you'll notice that I've got a feature products list displayed that shows some products that I want highlighted on the homepage. This is done by entering a simple slug, or script that I've added to the homepage. And if there are more products that can visibly fit in a row, the left and right arrows appear so you can scroll through the products. To learn how to add this display anywhere on your site, let's go add some new featured products listings to a blank page. I've created a new page called Featured Product List for us to play with. The first thing I need to do is add a blank HTML module to the DNN website. The first one I add to the page template in a grid width container. The second, I'll add to a full page width container. These could also be as a sidebar, or any other container relevant within a page template. Once added, I hover over the pencil icon, select Edit Content, then click on the Source button to flip from the WYSIWYG editor to the HTML source code edit mode. I first paste in my angular directive for the featured products display. But before hitting Save, I need to decide which products will be featured. Since this directive pulls from one of the eCommerce categories, I head over to my custom eCommerce solutions admin and into my Manage Categories UI. In the leftmost column is the ID of each category. All I need to do is enter the number of any category and it will pull the products from that category. Here, ID 11 will display shoe category. So, I go back and enter 11, hit Save. And when it refreshes the page products from the shoe category are now displayed in the grid width module. Next, we'll go back and look up the electronics category ID, which is 1. We paste in the directive into the full width HTML module, swap in the number 1, hit Save and now there are some electronics products displayed in the full width container. Just to show how easy it is to change, I'll go back to our first direct and change the 11 to a 30, hit Save. And when the page reloads, you can see now that we're displaying products from a different category, which is the automobile category. So, in summary, we've just looked at, and created, a couple of featured products displays showing different customized eCommerce solutions based on a page template, and then different products based on an assigned category. Some other out-of-the-box directives are personalized products list, which is dynamically generated based on similar products to those that a visitor has been browsing during their visit. Another allows you to specify how many of the recently viewed products they've listed. This is handy for custom design at the bottom of the page, or verticals in a sidebar, as shown here. Another one is best-sellers, which is based on top sales within your eCommerce product catalog. While our engine allows us to create many more customized and dynamics directives, this video was just a quick introduction into helping you improve sales conversions through personalization using angular directives.
