The Client

Brick Packaging is a packaging distribution center that caters to the wine and food industry. As a primarily B2B distributor, Brick approached Clarity to revamp and build a web ordering and management portal for all their partners. The goal was to re-engineer the way they did business and provide service like no other vendor in their industry.

Existing Problems

Brick, like every other vendor, struggled streamlining their business and providing excellent B2B services for their partners and clients. Their platform was slow and clunky and couldn’t be customized to answer to their quickly changing business needs. The eCommerce store was not fully integrated into their back-office system, therefore not fully integrated into their business processes. It created a ton of manual processing of orders, both for them and their clients.

Our Solutions

Clarity started first with the UX (user experience). They build a custom eCommerce ordering portal that made it quick and easy for vendors to locate items that they may be interested in. Real-time integration to their ERP provided accurate inventory counts, and Clarity eCommerce’s customization allowed for a ton of customization on the user store experience, the checkout process, as well as the re-ordering, reporting and paying invoices online.

The Benefits

Clarity created a triple cart system, allowing partners to either add items to a checkout cart, a quote cart or sample cart. Customized filtering capabilities and a product comparison engine makes it easy for vendors to see how different bottles compare. The checkout provides integration and price comparison for seven different trucking companies, and vendors can schedule custom delivery options for delivery days, whether the trucking company needs to have a lift gate, fork lift, 24 hours notice and more. The user dashboard provides single-click re-ordering for any item(s) from any previous order and the ability to pay invoices online. All of this added up to a solution that’s unparalleled in delivering exceptional service to their B2B clients.

Technologies

The front-end CMS is DNN’s Evoq Professional. HTML5, CSS3 and Modernizr was used to create the responsive template.

Clarity Connect, JavaScript, JQuery, Telerik controls were all needed for various features and functionality, as well as a host of DNN modules, like XMod Pro, Easy DNN News, Rotator and Gallery.
