Updating Customer Interactions and Payment Options Austin, TX — March 19, 2019 — Merck Pharmaceutical and Clarity Ventures have partnered to perform an extensive update to the Merck Animal Health site. Given only a two-month deadline, Clarity was able to improve not only customer access to the site but also install a significant upgrade to the site’s eCommerce abilities. “We had to get everything done in just two months, so it’s certainly been a nose-to-the-grindstone experience,” said Clarity’s Vice-President of Sales and Marketing Ron Halversen. “They were about to lose their ability to accept credit cards, which would have been a significant problem for a site that sells B2C and B2B eCommerce. The new site offers a more secure and wide-ranging option for accepting payment.” The site itself also needed considerable expansion, both for the number of clients accessing it and the kinds of clients they were courting. Because the site served many types of clients—pet owners, small veterinary clinics, large clinics, mobile vets for ranches—the site UX/UI had to change to interact with each kind of customer in a specialized way. These changes gave users the ability to specify the animal they wanted tracking chips for, whether they were buying a single unit or dozens. “We implemented a completely Azure-hosted and self-contained set of modules within DNN’s CMS (content management system) that creates a robust enterprise-level eCommerce system that we launched with no site downtime,” said Chris Reddick, President and CEO of Clarity Ventures. “It integrated fully with the mobile site as well, offering a complete product catalog so that orders could be accepted no matter the device the customer was using.” Clarity played a key part by providing the detailed customizations needed while also incorporating this within a seamless modular package within DNN, all running on the Azure Cloud platform.
